Natural Landscape Slideshow

I really like the way this slideshow came out together. I think all the pictures work very well together because they are all of the same kind of scenery. The music I chose is actually a song that I made myself called Croatoan.

Extra Credit

  With this photo I tried experimenting using the rule of thirds. I aimed the camera so the staircase was off to the left, but curved more into view is it got higher. I think this made the photo look much more interesting because it gives you a good view of both the stairs as well as the nature surroundings. I changed the hues in lightroom to make the green grass a much bluer shade, which i think looks very interesting and gives the photo a colder look.

With this picture I tried experimenting with the depth of field by focusing in on the close swing. I angled it so you can see all the other swings in the background, al out of focus, which gives it an interesting look. I raised the vibrancy in lightroom to make the colors of the swings and the bars pop out more, as well as the green grass behind it.

Commercial Portrait

I decided to try to recreate the time magazine cover, only i made it humorous by making the cover story subject ridiculous. I think it turned out pretty well and looks fairly realistic.

Artistic Portrait

I chose this photo of my friend Isaac because the expression on his face is very... interesting, to say the least. Either way, it looks like it has a certain level of artistic quality to it from his facial expression as well as the shooting technique i used, rule of thirds.

out of the three of these I think the best picture is the one of myself. I had Shane take this picture, and had him climb onto a ledge so that he was over me. From this angle I had to look up and to the left towards the camera. I had him take it so it was just my head and upper body in the shot, which ended up looking pretty good. I raised the contrast levels in lightroom as well as tilting and cropping the photo so my head was more level with the bottom of the picture. I then lowered the saturation slightly, because the original was over saturated.

Multiple Exposure

This is a multiple exposure of my friend Dane. It is composed of two pictures, one an up close shot of his face looking at the camera, and the other a side shot of him sliding down a stair rail. The two shots didn't go together all that well, but I think it looks alright.

Panorama

this is a panoramic shot I took at Mt. Hood Meadows Ski Resort, from pretty high up on one of the ski runs. It is a pretty shot of the trees on the ridge, and I think it turned out very well.

High Dynamic Range

Unfortunately I missed class when we went over how to do this, so I do not have a HDR picture to post.

Photo Effects

Tilt Shift

Adding the tilt-shift effect to this photograph made it pop out a lot more and puts a lot more focus on the lower part of the picture. It makes the stone blocks and slabs much more pronounced because the edges are the more in focus than anything else.

Daguerreotype

Turning this picture into a "daguerreotype" makes it of course look like a very old photograph. I used a cement texture over the whole thing to give it a deteriorated look, and changed the background image behind my friend for the sake of humor. I think it turned out quite nicely.
